Location: Lower Mainland British Columbia

Position Type: Permanent – Full Time

Salary Range: $70,000-$100,000

The Position:

With the rapid expansion in evolving electrical technologies Valid Manufacturing has an immediate opening for a full time Technical Sales Specialist located in the lower mainland . The successful applicant will thrive in a dynamic environment that presents opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge projects as well as enable you to use your skills in customer service and support by liaising with the key accounts on both a technical and logistical basis. You will provide customer and on-site support and training as required with the backup of the resources at the plant.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Self-motivated, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects at various stages of development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced with management and the scheduling of project tasks.
  • Exemplary Customer Service skills

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Electrician or a diploma from an accredited Institute of Technology
  • Familiar with Canadian Electrical Code and local utility requirements
  • 5+ years in a customer service roll
  • Proven history of development and maintenance of key accounts
  • Able to work independently
  • Valid drivers license

Location: Salmon Arm, B.C.

Position Type: Full-time

Department: Mechanical Assembly

Salary Range: $42,000-$54,000

The General Labourer performs clean up, grinding and buffing, material handling, light assembly work and other related duties as assigned. These employees will be trained through on-the-job training and will be guaranteed to succeed if they can follow directions and possess the willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in material preparation through pretreatment dip tanks.
  • Applies masking for multi-color applications.
  • Manages loading and unloading of oven to facilitate smooth material flow.
  • Assists where needed in the production of Valid mechanical or electrical products.
  • Assists in preparing coaches for slide installations.
  • Performs grinding & buffing of metal and aluminum components.
  • Material handling.
  • Performs light component assembly work.
  • Keeps the work area clean and tidy.
  • Keeps accurate and legible time records on travelers and in the time collection system.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Willingness to contribute and participate as part of the team. Shows initiative.
  • Strong organizational ability, good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Uses all hand tools such as drills, grinders, hammers, screw drivers, vise grips, etc., as well as power tools such as chop-saws and band-saws.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Must be able to work on ladders and/or scaffolding
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel and crouch at times to perform assigned tasks
  • Must be able to use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects skillfully

 

Requirements:

  • No previous experience required; however, previous manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent is an asset
  • Able to work evening shifts
  • Exhibits maturity, professionalism, and a customer-first focus
  • Experience in using hand tools such as grinders, drills and routers is an asset.
  • The ability to measure and cut material to the prescribed measurements.
  • Competent writing and reading skills are a definite requirement.

  • Must adhere to all safety practices and procedures and work in a safe manner at all times.
  • May be required to work shift work and should be available to work overtime if requested.
